With the third printing of Sailing the number changed to 24340. Stated on the copyright page: Third Printing, 1961. Still no letter code anywhere. Everything else is unchanged. The fourth printing has the letter D on page 159.
The first revised edition of Sailing states New Revised Edition on the cover. Stated on the copyright page: First Revised Edition, 1966. The only difference between this edition and previous editions is some photos have been deleted, text has been added And Bill Schill has one photo. (not shown, but same cover as previous editions with the exception that it says revised on the cover)
The French version of Sailing is titled Yachting. © 1960 by Golden Press, Inc., New York. Publié par les Editions Graphiques Internationales (E.G.I.), Paris. From the last page: Imprimé en Italie. Cover price is $2.95. Number on the spine is 13828. A first of this edition will have the letters ABCDE on page 159. As far as I can tell the contents are the same as the Golden Press revised editions.
Image #1 also exists in a large (5 ¼ by 7 ¾ inch) hardcover. The number on the back cover is 63517.
No Golden Press cover variant exists, except for the Leisure Library edition. Out of print.
